Summer ‘09 Update

 “This summer it is with great pleasure that we welcome two new board members to Ohio, Indiana, Northern Kentucky Regional Productions, Inc. (O.I.N.K.).  Former Judge Michael Witte and Michael Rozow”, says Steven Hedges, President of O.I.N.K.

Michael Rozow is the Executive Director of Dearborn County Economic Development Initiative and President of Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce as well as head of the Convention, Visitors, and Tourism Bureau of Dearborn County.

“Michael Witte is a former student from South Dearborn High School”, says Hedges, and adds, “He has served as a Judge for Dearborn County for many years”.

Ahmad Ahmad is the Director of Operations for the new Hollywood  Casino, Lawrenceburg.  “We are honored that he would take time from his busy schedule at Hollywood to help us with our vision”.  Both of our new board boardmembers in addition to our current members, Mieko Johnston a translator and Asian Caterer and Paul Bunnell a Financial Analyst in Fort Lauderdale, FL bring with them years of experience and expertise from many areas of business development”, says Hedges.  “The first point of business is focusing on the future of O.I.N.K. in Dearborn County”, says Hedges. 

O.I.N.K. is now looking for property to build a Community Art Center.  Hedges’ design plans include seven to twelve new businesses involved including 1000+ jobs.  “Many big name companies want to come to Indiana and be a part of this project”, says Hedges.  “Live theatre, entertainment, restaurants a health and beauty spa with a medium size convention hotel are only a few of the plans for the center with a full service Ballet School and artists studios”, he adds.

 While the O.I.N.K. Board of Director’s is working on obtaining a venue in Southeastern Indiana, they will continue to produce semi-professional regional productions.  The most recent event being the “Living History Days and Civil War Encampment” in Napoleon, IN, which was the 3rd Annual event for the Napoleon Central House, an old drover’s hotel now on the list of Indiana Historical Places.  Abraham Lincoln, people from the Underground Railroad museum and a tea party given by Queen Victoria were only a few of the actors supplied for the event by O.I.N.K. productions.

 Other past O.I.N.K. productions have been, ”The Three Ladies Luncheon” in Cincinnati for the wives of the Governors of Ohio Indiana and Kentucky, an outdoor Rock Concert in Osgood, IN, a road show of “1776″ the musical at Maysville, KY. in the historic Washington Theatre, two different ballets of “The Nutcracker” and “Dracula” with dancers from The School of Creative and Performing Arts in Osgood, IN, “An Evening Cabaret with James Pentaudi” at the Applewood Restaurant in Aurora, IN, an off Broadway road show of “Forever Plaid” in Napoleon, IN as well as Five full Broadway shows with actors, singers, dancers, musicians and technicians of “1776″, “Jesus Christ Super Star”, “Oklahoma”, “Pajama Game”,  ”Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, and “Once Upon A Mattress”.

G. Michael Witte Welcomed to Board

At the recent annual board meeting, O.I.N.K. welcomed G. Michael Witte to the board.  The luncheon meeting was held at the Buffet in Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg.
